Before you get to the main task of repairing the bathtub faucet, disconnect the main water supply pipe to avoid wastage of water. To disconnect the supply, turn the round knobs that are attached to the hoses, in the clockwise direction.
If your kitchen sink is lightly stained, clean it with soap water and allow to drain. Then apply white vinegar, using a clean cloth and scrub well. Instead of vinegar, you can use baking soda. Sprinkle baking soda over the surface of the sink and scrub with a damp sponge. Wipe and dry the surface with a paper towel. You can use some oil to bring back the lost sheen. Pour some drops of oil on a clean cloth and polish the surface with it.
After the replacement handle is in place, attach the retaining screw back to its position to fix the handle on the faucet. With help of a screwdriver, tighten this screw.
