Take 2x4 wood stud and cut them into parts of size 4 to 6 inches approximately. Screw them below the countertop, so that it does not fall after removing the supports.
After you have pushed the new strainer in the recessed lip, ensure that it fits properly in the plumber's putty. This will create a leak proof, airtight seal.
Step #6: With the plumbing putty, smear " close to the base of the new faucet. Push the new faucet into the holes, and the plumbing putty will work its magic by sealing it in place.
