Sometimes, you may notice fingerprint marks on your kitchen sink. Such marks can be removed by spraying glass cleaner on them. Wipe with a paper towel or a clean cloth. In case of tough stains, like paint; use a commercial polisher, specially made for stainless steel products. Normally, rust spots appear very rarely on stainless steel sinks. If there are such spots, apply a paste made of a tablespoon of tartar and a few drops of lemon juice, and leave it for an hour. Scrub the sink with a clean cloth. Rinse and dry.
▣ Most people opt for 6-inch deep sinks. However, they cannot hold much clutter and splash. Opting for a 9- or 10-inch sink, will provide plenty of space for convenient usage. Consider the size of your pots and pans that you regularly use. Also, very deep bowls go way below the countertop, this requires you to bend while using the sink. So, choose the depth that is comfortable to work in, and is not too deep from the countertop surface.
Brushed nickel faucets are electroplated, which means that nickel is applied over brass. They shine less due to this nickel coating, because of which fingerprints and watermarks are not highlighted or visible on the faucet. During the 1930s, nickel went out of fashion because the coating started to come off; this problem was fixed using PVD or Physical Vapor Deposition technology. This technology makes the faucets costlier than the other types, but it has also made them of very good quality, meaning they hardly need to be repaired, and do not tarnish easily.
