▣ Undermount or drop-in models? Choose the ones that blend with your kitchen design. Undermount models create a seamless look, as they are installed below the countertop. Drop-in sinks have flanges around its perimeter which helps it fit into the countertop.
Step #1: First of all, turn off the water supply to the kitchen. Nowadays, modern kitchen sinks have the mechanism where there are valves right underneath it; if your sink has one too, turn it off. If not, then you may have to turn off the entire connection for the entire house.
▣ Look for drainage points in the sink. Most manufacturers now place the drainage point towards the back of the sink, rather than the center. This provides more space and convenience of use under the faucet. You also get more space in the under sink cabinets, as the drain pipe also moves away from the center. Most models have the drain points at the left or right, which helps in better drainage after utensils are piled in it.
Stainless steel is a steel alloy with 11% chromium. The chromium in stainless steel forms a film of chromium oxide over the surface of the metal, so that it is not exposed to air and water, that can trigger corrosion. This alloy is used for manufacturing various products, especially cutlery. Stainless steel sinks are among the most commonly used products of this alloy. The main reason for its popularity is its durability, as compared to other materials, like porcelain and cast iron. Stainless steel is rust-resistant, and retains its luster for a longer period. It is perfect for making deeper sinks, as it is strong enough to hold more utensils and can match almost all types of interior decor.
