As the name suggests, these sinks are fitted onto the underside of the counter, making it a seamless sink that blends into the kitchen layout. Thanks to its sleek design and snug fit, it renders the kitchen a clean and modern look. The downside of these sinks is that they require an internal support system which, in turn, increases not just the installing work, but also the cost. In addition, one has to cut the counter to install faucets and attachments.
Another disadvantage of a soapstone sink is that if it is not oiled after regular intervals, its color will lose its evenness. Although, soapstone keeps darkening on its own, as years go by, mineral oil application is necessary to keep its appearance bright and vibrant.
While removing the washer from the valve stem, make sure you do not cause any damage to the metal bottom of the valve stem. In case of damage, the valve stem might need to be replaced, which again is a costly affair.
If you have water that is hard or has a lot of precipitation, clogging would be common. Your concern then would be to repair the faucet in order to unclog it. Doing so involves simple rinsing. However, you need to know how to remove them first. The job is not as complicated as fixing dripping faucets.
