If your kitchen sink is lightly stained, clean it with soap water and allow to drain. Then apply white vinegar, using a clean cloth and scrub well. Instead of vinegar, you can use baking soda. Sprinkle baking soda over the surface of the sink and scrub with a damp sponge. Wipe and dry the surface with a paper towel. You can use some oil to bring back the lost sheen. Pour some drops of oil on a clean cloth and polish the surface with it.
Removing dirt from black kitchen sinks everyday is an easy way to prevent build up of stains. Using dish washing liquid daily to cleaning these sinks is indeed the best way to keep these sinks looking new for years to come.
Exposure to petroleum-based products may damage the surface of acrylic sinks, especially the polyester/acrylic ones. Use of abrasive materials may cause scratches on the surface of the sink.
Usually, the faucets are not attached to the sink but are attached in the wall. If the faucet comes in the way of removing the sink, then it will have to be temporarily removed, using a pipe wrench, after you have disconnected the water supply line. If the faucet is attached to the sink, then it will have to be removed and reattached to the new one. In that case, attach the faucet before you put the sink in place.
