Step #7: If the new faucet requires screw covers or bolts (over the end of screws), then slide it under the sink and install it along with the washers. Tighten the washers and screw covers or bolts near the base so it can hold your new faucet properly.
Inspect the rubber washer. From whatever little plumbing experience that I have, I have seen that most faucet leakages are caused by worn out washers and threads. Just looking at the washer itself will give you a good idea of whether it is in good condition or not. Replace the worn out washer with a new one of the same size and thickness.
Faucets with ceramic disc valves are easily identifiable by their single lever over a wide cylindrical body, and these can be operated with a mere th turn of the lever!
