Repair jobs are easier than you think. They are not time-consuming at all and you can save some money, which would have otherwise gone to a plumber. In case of replacement, remember to buy good quality and matching parts for your faucet.
If you are replacing an old sink, make sure that you have brought an appropriate replacement, with the same shape, size, and same hole outputs as the previous one.
First part of the plumbing project is removing the old sink. If you don't want your kitchen to be transformed into a swimming pool, I recommend that you close all the water inlet valves of the sink, before going ahead. Also, disconnect the other connections like supply tube, disposal, and trap. Be careful and keep a tub underneath, while removing the pipes, as they may still contain residual water inside.
The method might slightly change depending on the type of the faucet, but overall, the method for any single handle faucet will be the same. For instance if it is a disc faucet, you would need to open or the unscrew the cap covering the cartridge. Lift the screws out and there will be a set of seals at the bottom. Just take them out and replace them with the new ones.
