Step #7: If the new faucet requires screw covers or bolts (over the end of screws), then slide it under the sink and install it along with the washers. Tighten the washers and screw covers or bolts near the base so it can hold your new faucet properly.
The very first thing that you need to check is the sink sprayer or aerator. Most of the time, the problem is restricted to the sink. First, turn on the faucet and see if there is any leakage from the hose or the joint between hose and sink. Then, turn off the faucet and water supply valve, and dismantle the sprayer. Check whether the diverter that diverts water from faucet to sprayer is in good condition. If there is any blockage or debris, soak the diverter overnight in a cup full of vinegar. Now, remove the spray head and check if the aerator is blocked. Now, check the hose to see whether it is clogged or blocked with any deposits. Soak it in vinegar overnight and flush water through it. In case it is cracked, it needs to be replaced. Similarly, check the aerator or strainer on sink faucet. If there is any debris blocking it, clean the aerator by soaking it overnight. In case of a highly damaged piece, you can simply get it replaced.
Cleaning the pipes can get very tricky because you cannot access them from the surface. Here are a few ways by which you can clean the pipes effectively.
To avoid the sink from clogging, dispose the leftover food into the garbage before washing the dishes. Using a kitchen drain plug is essential while you wash the dishes. Make sure you clean the drain pipe regularly using the aforementioned ways to avoid any sludge build-up, even if it is not clogged.
