Always make it a point to rinse the sink after use, and wipe it with a clean cloth. Thorough cleaning should be done once a week. Don't use a steel wool pad or any abrasive scrubbers to clean the sink, as they can cause scratches on the surface of your sink. A little care and regular cleaning can keep your stainless steel sink sparkling.
After the nuts are removed, it will be easy to pull out the faucet stems from the wall. Do this gently, using the appropriate screwdrivers. You don't want to enlarge the hole in the wall. Otherwise, your new faucet might not fit in. If the stem has a retainer clip, then use needle-nose pliers to remove it.
Re-assemble the whole structure, turn on the main water supply and see whether there is any leakage. If leakage is not found, then you have successfully performed the repairing job.
Cut off the main water supply that provides water to the entire household. After holding back the water supply, remove the faucet handle, and let out all the water from it.
